# Fatal Config Error • AI Agent SDK

# FatalConfigError

AI Agent

Raised on an unrecoverable gateway/bot configuration error.

Signals that restarting the process is pointless until an operator
fixes the configuration — e.g. two bots sharing one token, no
messaging platform configured, a malformed `gateway.yaml`, or an
invalid credential detected at startup. The wrapper entry point maps
this to :data:`GATEWAY_FATAL_CONFIG_EXIT_CODE` (78) so the supervisor
halts the crash-loop and the failure is terminal and visible.
