# stop

> This is a method of the [**BasePlatformAdapter**](https://praison.ai/docs/sdk/reference/praisonaiagents/classes/BasePlatformAdapter.md) class in the [**base**](https://praison.ai/docs/sdk/reference/praisonaiagents/modules/base.md) module.

Signal the inbound loop to stop and tear down the connection.

Default releases the default :meth:`start` wait, then delegates to
:meth:`disconnect`. Adapters with their own run loop override this to
unblock it first.

## Signature

```python theme={"theme":{"light":"vitesse-light","dark":"vitesse-dark"}}
async def stop() -> None
```
