# Validate Class • AI Agent SDK

> validate_class: Validate a tool class before instantiation.

# validate\_class

Method

> This is a method of the [**BaseTool**](https://praison.ai/docs/sdk/reference/praisonaiagents/classes/BaseTool.md) class in the [**base**](https://praison.ai/docs/sdk/reference/praisonaiagents/modules/base.md) module.

Validate a tool class before instantiation.

This can be used to check if a class is a valid tool without creating an instance.

## Signature

```python theme={"theme":{"light":"vitesse-light","dark":"vitesse-dark"}}
def validate_class() -> bool
```

### Returns

**Returns** `bool`

True if the class appears to be a valid tool
