# Is Explicitly Allowed • AI Agent SDK

> is_explicitly_allowed: Whether a user is explicitly allow-listed.

# is\_explicitly\_allowed

Method

> This is a method of the [**BotConfig**](https://praison.ai/docs/sdk/reference/praisonaiagents/classes/BotConfig.md) class in the [**config**](https://praison.ai/docs/sdk/reference/praisonaiagents/modules/config.md) module.

Whether a user is explicitly allow-listed.

Unlike :meth:`is_user_allowed`, an empty `allowed_users` returns
`False` here — the inbound pipeline then defers to
`unknown_user_policy`. This is the check the security pipeline
should use to decide whether to bypass the unknown-user handler.

## Signature

```python theme={"theme":{"light":"vitesse-light","dark":"vitesse-dark"}}
def is_explicitly_allowed(user_id: str) -> bool
```

## Parameters

**user\_id** `str` *required*

No description available.

### Returns

**Returns** `bool`

The result of the operation.
