# Get File Info • AI Agent SDK

> get_file_info: Get file information (hash, mtime, size).

# get\_file\_info

Method

> This is a method of the [**FileTracker**](https://praison.ai/docs/sdk/reference/praisonaiagents/classes/FileTracker.md) class in the [**indexing**](https://praison.ai/docs/sdk/reference/praisonaiagents/modules/indexing.md) module.

Get file information (hash, mtime, size).

## Signature

```python theme={"theme":{"light":"vitesse-light","dark":"vitesse-dark"}}
def get_file_info(filepath: str) -> Dict[str, Any]
```

## Parameters

**filepath** `str` *required*

Path to file

### Returns

**Returns** `Dict[str, Any]`

Dict with path, hash, mtime, size

## Uses

* `os.stat`
* `hexdigest`
* `hashlib.sha256`
* `f.read`
