# track\_presence

Set or update a client's presence status.

## Signature

```python theme={"theme":{"light":"vitesse-light","dark":"vitesse-dark"}}
async def track_presence(client_id: str, status: str, metadata: Optional[Dict[str, Any]]) -> None
```

## Parameters

**client\_id** `str` *required*

Client identifier

**status** `str` (default: 'online')

Presence status ("online", "idle", "offline")

**metadata** `Optional`

Optional client metadata
