# append

Method

Append `ev` to the journal (idempotent on `run_id/seq/kind`).

Re-appending the same `(run_id, seq, kind)` — which happens if a
replayed step is (harmlessly) re-journalled — updates the payload
rather than raising, keeping the journal the single source of truth.
