# resolve

Method

Resolve a runtime by ID with optional configuration overrides.

## Signature

```python theme={"theme":{"light":"vitesse-light","dark":"vitesse-dark"}}
def resolve(runtime_id: str, config_overrides: Optional[Dict[str, Any]]) -> Any
```

## Parameters

**runtime\_id** `str` *required*

Runtime identifier to resolve

**config\_overrides** `Optional`

Optional configuration overrides

### Returns

**Returns** `Any`

Runtime instance (typically implementing AgentRuntimeProtocol)

### Exceptions

> [accordion] ValueError
>
> If runtime\_id is not registered (fail-closed behavior)

> [accordion] TypeError
>
> If runtime cannot be instantiated
