# unregister • AI Agent SDK

> unregister: Remove a tool from the registry.

# unregister

Method

> This is a method of the [**ToolRegistry**](https://praison.ai/docs/sdk/reference/praisonaiagents/classes/ToolRegistry.md) class in the [**registry**](https://praison.ai/docs/sdk/reference/praisonaiagents/modules/registry.md) module.

Remove a tool from the registry.

Thread-safe: Uses lock for concurrent access.

## Signature

```python theme={"theme":{"light":"vitesse-light","dark":"vitesse-dark"}}
def unregister(name: str) -> bool
```

## Parameters

**name** `str` *required*

Tool name to remove

### Returns

**Returns** `bool`

True if tool was removed, False if not found
