# Register Profile • AI Agent SDK

> register_profile: Register (or prepend) a family matcher → profile mapping.

# register\_profile

Function

> This function is defined in the [**profiles**](https://praison.ai/docs/sdk/reference/praisonaiagents/modules/profiles.md) module.

Register (or prepend) a family matcher → profile mapping.

New registrations take precedence over the built-in defaults so callers
can override behaviour. Thread-safe.

## Signature

```python theme={"theme":{"light":"vitesse-light","dark":"vitesse-dark"}}
def register_profile(matchers: List[str], profile: HarnessProfile) -> None
```

## Parameters

**matchers** `List[str]` *required*

Case-insensitive substrings matched against the model id.

**profile** `HarnessProfile` *required*

The :class:`HarnessProfile` to resolve when a matcher hits.
