# Validate Candidate • AI Agent SDK

> validate_candidate: Build/boot the candidate from ``new_config`` and pre-flight it.

# validate\_candidate

> This is a method of the [**ReloadValidationProtocol**](https://praison.ai/docs/sdk/reference/praisonaiagents/classes/ReloadValidationProtocol.md) class in the [**config**](https://praison.ai/docs/sdk/reference/praisonaiagents/modules/config.md) module.

Build/boot the candidate from `new_config` and pre-flight it.

Must not stop or mutate the live runtime; on any failure return a
report with `ok=False` and the reason(s) so the caller keeps the
previous config serving.

## Signature

```python theme={"theme":{"light":"vitesse-light","dark":"vitesse-dark"}}
async def validate_candidate(new_config: Mapping[str, Any]) -> CandidateReport
```

## Parameters

**new\_config** `Mapping[str, Any]` *required*
