Security Features CLI

Security features for recipes including SBOM generation, bundle signing, dependency auditing, and PII redaction.

Quick Start

Commands

sbom

Generate Software Bill of Materials (SBOM).
Options: Examples:

audit

Audit recipe dependencies for vulnerabilities. The scan checks the recipe’s own pinned dependencies (name==version), not the packages installed in your current Python environment.
The vulnerability scan needs pip-audit. Install it first:
Without pip-audit, the audit still runs, but the warnings list shows Vulnerability scan incomplete: pip-audit is not installed (pip install pip-audit). An empty vulnerabilities list without pip-audit installed does not mean the recipe is clean.
Options: Examples:
Output:
Output when the scan could not run:

Warnings

A Vulnerability scan incomplete: ... warning means the scan did not fully run. Treat it as “not checked”, not as “clean”. The audit still reports Audit passed and --strict does not fail on it, so check the warnings yourself.

sign

Sign a recipe bundle with a private key.
Options: Examples:

verify

Verify a signed bundle.
Options: Examples:

SBOM Format

CycloneDX

Lockfile Validation

Validate that recipes have proper lockfiles:
Supported lockfile formats:
  • lock/requirements.lock (pip-compile)
  • lock/uv.lock (uv)
  • lock/poetry.lock (poetry)

PII Redaction

Configure PII redaction in TEMPLATE.yaml:
